Village Playground
The riverside village playground was gifted to the village by the family of Rex Chester CBE JP in 1974. Rex was the local landowner and farmed the estate for 33 years from 1935 to 1968. It is held in trust for the use and enjoyment of village residents.
The annual village fete is held here on a weekend over the summer. For more information about the fete click here.
Children should be supervised at all times. The far bank of the river is on private property and you should therefore not cross the river. Users of the playground are requested to ensure that they take all their belongings with them when they leave. A wheely bin is provided on the road just outside the northerly gate for any rubbish and picnic remains. Dogs are welcome but please ensure that you clear up after them for the safety and protection of all users, especially the little ones that can like to roll around on the grass a lot.
