The Meon Valley Trail
The Meon Valley Trail covers 11 miles of the old Meon Valley Railway line route from West Meon to Wickham. The original railway ran from Alton to Fareham, a distance of 22 miles and closed finally in 1968. Due to it's previous use, this is now an easy walk with very gentle gradients and is also suitable for pushchairs and mobility scooters. The trail is open to all non-motorised traffic and is popular with cyclists and horse riders. To walk the length will take approximately 6 hours or 2 hours if cycling. Car parking is available at the West Meon end of the trail (follow the signs along Station Rd, West Meon).
