Old Winchester Hill & Beacon Hill parking charges

Proposal to introduce a voluntary donation scheme for Car Parking at Natural England Car Parks at Old Winchester Hill and Beacon Hill National Nature Reserves

We are writing to you to make you aware that as of 1st January 2018 Natural England proposes to introduce a voluntary parking donation scheme on our car parks at Old Winchester Hill and Beacon Hill National Nature Reserves. The fixed voluntary rates in both car parks will be:

• Up to 1 hour £1.50 per vehicle
• All day £3.00 per vehicle
• Annual pass £25 (to be confirmed)

The reason for this change in policy is to increase the funds raised to support the sustainable nature conservation management on both reserves and contribute to the long term strategic management and enhancement of these important facilities.

Natural England proposes to introduce a locals/regular user’s annual pass of £25.00 per annum for both these car parks that will apply to all Natural England car parks across the country.

We will be informing the community and existing visitors through the following means:

· Natural England will put up posters in each car park to provide notice of the changes – as of 4th of December

· Reserve volunteers and supporters will be alerted ahead of the introduction

· Staff and volunteers at the sites will be briefed to answer questions.
